New Tenants

Set in the spring of 1945, Upper Silesia has become part of Poland. Luisa and her stepfather Arne are the last Germans remaining in their village, hiding in their own cellar while a Polish family moves in above. After being discovered by the new tenants, Tadeusz and his daughter Agnieszka, they are eventually tolerated and moved to the attic. As the new arrivals begin to feel at home, Luisa and Arne increasingly find their own homeland becoming foreign to them.
