Dissonance

This is the soundtrack for the short film DISSONANCE, composed by Olaf Taranczewski together with Frank Zerban. The highly complex piano music was partly recorded using a self-playing grand piano.

DISSONANCE (directed by Till Nowak) premiered at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2015. The short film is a trip between fantasy and reality, between animation and live-action drama. It tells the story of a psychotic street musician who must leave his mental world to deal with the real one. The short received more than 40 international awards, including Best Music in an animated short at Annecy, France, and the German Film Music Award.
